Day 2 of our tour takes us to explore the rich history and culture of Morocco’s imperial cities. Wake up early to take advantage of the quiet streets and capture stunning photos before we depart for Fes.
On the way, we’ll make a stop at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Roman Volubilis, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Mauritania. Established in the 3rd century BC, the Roman Empire made it an important venue, and you’ll be able to see the buildings and intricate mosaics that remain today.
Next, we’ll head to Meknes, another imperial city with its own unique charm. Make sure to visit the grand gate of Bab El-Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the Royal Stables. After a day of exploring Meknes, we’ll continue on to Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco.
